Scope
This document is intended for existing Actus customers, with systems running
older versions.
It describes the main improvements introduced by Actus in version 5.8, which
was released in March 2015 and will gradually be distributed to all customers
during the second half of 2015, under support agreements.
The main emphasis of this version are an improved recording module and an
improved clips exports module, including faster exports, frame accurate.

Recording Engine

The recorder can run either in Normal Mode, or in Active Monitoring Mode which is much more robust and provides more alerts on feed and ingest issues |
| Faster Configure |
Added a process that configures a specific recorder (channel) without the need to restart all services. |

Exports
| Faster Cut-Join | New concatenating module (cutting and joining chunks for export) offers 50% to 90% speed improvement on the concatenation, with no added CPU consumption. |
